Clemens Briels – Antipodism in Colour and Form With his unique style and optimistic visual language, Clemens Briels perfectly aligns with Momo Rugs' mission: making art and design accessible in everyday life – through wall hangings and floor rugs in every size and shape. Clemens Briels calls his style Antipodism. Drawing from unknown sources, he transforms images with a keen sense of contrast into bold, unconventional yet always approachable artworks. His work is colourful, distinctly influenced by Latin America, and dismisses academic rules of perspective. Briels is a sculptor, painter, furniture designer and glass sculptor. Yet his signature remains his cheerful and optimistic outlook on life. His successful exhibitions have followed one another rapidly across Europe, North America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Singapore and even in a museum exhibition in Shanghai. Internationally, Clemens Briels has received special recognition:
- He was named Official Artist of the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City and designed the official poster for the Games.
- The European Union commissioned him to design a sculpture and prize for the European Fashion competition.
